Don Ho passed away.

I'm so saddened to hear of Don Ho's passing earlier. Talk about a guy who practically embodies Hawaii and that culture to the rest of the world. Reading about how legendary this guy was as far as an entertainer's pretty amazing. The celebrity A-list that came out to Hawaii to see this man perform was something else.

And to think, just a few months back I bought a Tiki Farm commemorative Don Ho tiki mug as well.

I had not heard of Don Ho until now. Have I been out-of-the-loop or what?

I like Hawaiian music, so I'll see if I can sample his stuff on Amazon! Thanks for bringing him into my awareness.

I think most people are use to the Martin Denny & Arthur Lyman instrumental sort of Hawaiian music. Don was more of a smooth vocalist... kind of like a Polynesian Kenny Rogers.

Just heard that his daughter, Dayna Ho-Henry, was found dead at a friend's house whom she'd been staying with after her father's passing. So sad...
