Another sketchbook upload
Just trying out some new Photoshop brushes, textures and things.
It never hurts to experiment and have some fun along the way.

Construction zone worker sketch
I've always admired the brave folks who can work in the dead of summer doing road construction. It's hot, smelly, sweaty, back-breaking, sticky and quite dangerous. I couldn't help but do a quick sketch and toss in a quick hit of digital color to capture the moment.

Travel sketch
This is a colorized image I did out of my sketchbook while on vacation last year. We were in line to catch the car ferry from Victoria, BC to Port Angeles, WA and saw this old hippie sort of guy outside of his car obviously trying to get a wi-fi signal for his phone. What really caught my attention wasn't necessarily his looks but what happened when the border guards came up to his car and noticing some recreational drugs that we could smell from afar. I think they let him off with a warning- but he was definitely a character worth sketching during my travels.

Bowler sketch
Maybe it's a Detroit thing but bowlers are always a fun group of people to draw. Maybe it's because they do take it so seriously.

Spaceman brushes experiment
I've always had an eternal fascination with space. Perhaps it's when my dad showed me the moon landing when I was a kid or the countless hours watching cheesy sci-fi in front of the TV set after school. Or even the numerous viewings of the original Star Wars on the big screen or the numerous Star Trek TV series, it definitely had an influence on me.
New brushes and new textures said I had to at least try to tap into influence with this piece.

Having fun with Joe Borri
My good friend and amazing art rep about town, Joe Borri recently had a close run in with a deer late night where he swore it got close enough to see its eye lashes. I don't doubt Joe one bit and later on that night, he needed a tonic to calm his nerves (I don't blame him one bit). I just wanted to know what it was like from the deer's point-of-view.
